Impact of Internet on Marketing Research

[ad_1]

Marketing research has been around for a very long time. It comes in many different forms and has been used in different ways throughout the years, but is really meant for one thing. It helps to increase the profitability of your marketing efforts through testing and fact finding. Up until a few years ago this research has all been done in the same basic fashion, but the Internet has changed a lot of things. What has been the impact of Internet on marketing research?

The Internet has brought millions of people from all walks of life together within reach of any marketer. By doing this it has provided a brand new platform on which to test out new and existing products and services. People have taken advantage of this, not only for the speed in which things can be tested but because of the diversity in which they can be tested. Something else was born out of all of this marketing research online, the affiliate marketer.

It is impossible for any one business online to cover all of his bases. There are just far too many variables involved for them to be able to reach all of the people that are in their target market. That is why many of them have turned to using affiliate marketing business promotion on the Internet (online). By doing so they are reaching an even wider market that still is targeted for their particular product or service. Even though they are paying a high commission to their affiliates, they can still retain the customer and make all of the profit on any back end products that they may offer. The Internet has certainly changed the way that many people do business. It all comes down to marketing research, however, and now the speed at which it can be done. As the Internet continues to evolve we will see even more changes in the way that research is being accomplished and it promises to help us all in our marketing efforts.

Interactivity and Individualization in Online Marketing – 5 Tips to Increase Traffic

[ad_1]

Interactivity and individualization in Online Marketing are two essential components that are necessary when it comes to online marketing. These elements work alone, as well as together in the development of online marketing programs.

Interactivity in online marketing programs

The integration of diverse services to implement web based marketing programs is advantageous to the programs involved. The sharing of ideas help motivate and stimulate the unique characteristics that are most needed for online marketing consultants. It is much easier for marketing specialists to communicate with each other, due to the level of high technology that is imposed in today’s business world. There are various manners that marketing consultants can communicate with each other and take their ideas and innovations to the next level. These methods are as follows:

  • Surveys

Online surveys are methods in which communication brings feedback and assists in the ways that marketing programs can be successful, especially in regard to the target population that is most profitable for these websites. They are quite inexpensive to develop and their results can be priceless to any marketing company.

  • 24/7 chat customer service

A customer service 24/7 chat line is a valuable tool when it comes to keeping customers satisfied. It is also a good method to use as a check point in relation to online advertising. After speaking with a customer, an online tech specialist can easily see if the marketing campaign is understood and if it is accomplishing positive results for the company.

  • E-mails

E-mails have always been a great way to communicate with people, especially relating to online marketing. They are wonderful methods to introduce a company and/ or products to many people instantly. They must be concise, clear, and short with pertinent information that will increase the interest of their readers to pursue the company or products listed.

  • Web analysis

Web analysis aids those consultants who are hired to assist marketing companies in their understanding of what methods are best for a specific marketing program.

  • Online audits (Outsourced)

Online audits are very often outsourced in order to provide objective and non-biased reports and/ or data.

Individualization pertaining to online marketing agendas

Individualization, better known as customizing, is preferred by many companies today. The major drawback to an individualized marketing strategy is the cost, which is usually much higher than other types of online marketing programs. Customizing a webpage, rather than using a generalized template, may also take more time. Sometimes an individual, such as a small online business entrepreneur, would rather use templates and save money so that he/she can design a site and have an active part in the website, rather than pay a web designer and have no significant role in the site.

All in all, Interactivity and Individualization in Online Marketing, are two elements that can and/ or will control the fate and success rate of any website. Without good communication through interactions, a website will not have positive end results. An individualized site is also very important when implementing an online marketing program. If a site has implemented both communication and customized marketing programs, then this site is sure to acquire increased traffic and profits.

Benefits of Hiring an Digital Marketing Agency for Promoting Your Business Online

[ad_1]

Online business has hit an all-time high globally, as major and minor companies are creating their own websites and trying to cater to the Internet public. Marketing online is vastly different from offline marketing as the rules and regulations of attracting consumers differ hugely. This is where a digital marketing agency comes in and ensures that online marketing, from creation of websites to ensuring that they excel in search engine rankings, is available to clients as a whole package. Without the help of a digital marketing agency, it is not possible for companies to enter the online market and emerge successful.

The primary benefit of hiring a digital marketing agency is that these agencies are experienced and understand the online world of marketing. Since there are major differences between the online world and the offline world of marketing, gathering professional help for the better performance of a website is highly recommended. Digital marketing agencies have experts on their board who understand what a particular client website contains and how it can be marketed digitally. From keyword heavy content to social media marketing, all options are available and it is up to these agencies to implement these options as per their understanding.

Search engine optimization is the biggest benefit of hiring a digital marketing agency. Marketing online serves no purpose unless people regularly visit a company’s website and go through its features and products. Competition in the online market today is mostly about securing high rankings in search engines. Securing high rankings in search engines automatically translates to popularity of the website as well as increase in consumer awareness. A digital marketing agency is well aware of all this and hence can be trusted with the responsibility to increase a website’s search engine rankings. They know how to go about it and whether they should take a content related approach or publicize the site via social media, is up to them.

A digital marketing agency also understand that in today’s age of flashy and tech-heavy websites, a company can never achieve the desired search engine rankings unless is website is up to the mark. A digital marketing agency also often acts as a web designing organization and designs the websites for its clients. It knows that depending on the content, how a website is to be designed so that what people are looking for in the site can be easily found. From the home page to the page dealing with the features of the company’s products to the page about the history of the company, all are available on the website. It is up to the digital marketing agency to put together these pieces in a manner that will be appealing to regular and new visitors of the website.

Since constant presence on the social media is highly necessary for a company to be successful in online marketing today, an internet marketing company ensures that they are able to provide full social media marketing strategies. It is important not only to have Facebook or Twitter pages for companies but also ensure that those are active. Sharing regular links to the company’s website and its new products, features and news are a must for every digital marketing agency. They also encourage active interaction between people and the company via social media pages. This helps the company understand their consumers and what the consumers look forward to from the company. Automatically, this gives the company a great chance to improve its search engine rankings.

For companies which are beginning their innings new in the online marketing world, it is highly beneficial to hire a digital marketing agency with proper experience. In that case, it is the company which will have all the experience and will be able to guide the client on how to improve search engine rankings. Clients can give the content and the layout of the website, but it is up to the digital marketing agency to make a site that will ensure that proper consumers are drawn to the site. Digital marketing agencies come across all sorts of clients and they know how the success of a website is achieved. So being dependent on them is actually beneficial for a company, especially the ones who have just begun.

e-Marketing Strategy: 7 Dimensions to Consider (the e-Marketing Mix)

[ad_1]

What is e-Marketing?

e-Marketing is still quite a controversial subject to talk about, since no one succeeded to unify the various theories around it; however there is one thing upon which there is no doubt – that e-Marketing first appeared under the form of various techniques deployed by pioneer companies selling their products via the internet in the early 90’s.

The frenzy around these new marketing techniques created by e-tailers and supported by the internet rapidly gave birth to a new dimension of what we knew as Marketing: the e-Marketing (electronic Marketing).

There are many definitions to what e-Marketing is, the simplest and shortest one being formulated by Mark Sceats: e-Marketing is Marketing that uses the internet as manifestation media. A working definition is that coming from a group of CISCO specialists: e-Marketing is the sum of all activities a business conducts through the internet with the purpose of finding, attracting, winning and retaining customers.

e-Marketing Strategy

The e-Marketing Strategy is normally based and built upon the principles that govern the traditional, offline Marketing – the well-known 4 P’s (Product – Price – Promotion – Positioning) that form the classic Marketing mix. Add the extra 3 P’s (People – Processes – Proof) and you got the whole extended Marketing mix.

Until here, there are no much aspects to differentiate e-Marketing from the traditional Marketing performed offline: the extended Marketing mix (4 + 3 P’s) is built around the concept of “transactional” and its elements perform transactional functions defined by the exchange paradigm. What gives e-Marketing its uniqueness is a series of specific functions, relational functions, that can be synthesized in the 2P + 2C+ 3S formula: Personalization, Privacy, Customer Service, Community, Site, Security, Sales Promotion.

These 7 functions of the e-Marketing stay at the base of any e-Marketing strategy and they have a moderating character, unlike the classic Marketing mix that comprises situational functions only. Moderating functions of e-Marketing have the quality of moderate, operate upon all situational functions of the mix (the classic 4 P’s) and upon each other.

1. Personalization

The fundamental concept of personalization as a part of the e-Marketing mix lies in the need of recognizing, identifying a certain customer in order to establish relations (establishing relations is a fundamental objective of Marketing). It is crucial to be able to identify our customers on individual level and gather all possible information about them, with the purpose of knowing our market and be able to develop customized, personalized products and services.

For example, a cookie strategically placed on the website visitor’s computer can let us know vital information concerning the access speed available: in consequence, if we know the visitor is using a slow connection (eg. dial-up) we will offer a low-volume variation of our website, with reduced graphic content and no multimedia or flash applications. This will ease our customer’s experience on our website and he will be prevented from leaving the website on the reason that it takes too long to load its pages.

Personalization can be applied to any component of the Marketing mix; therefore, it is a moderating function.

2. Privacy

Privacy is an element of the mix very much connected to the previous one – personalization. When we gather and store information about our customers and potential customers (therefore, when we perform the personalization part of the e-Marketing mix) a crucial issue arises: that of the way this information will be used, and by whom. A major task to do when implementing an e-Marketing strategy is that of creating and developing a policy upon access procedures to the collected information.

This is a duty and a must for any conscious marketer to consider all aspects of privacy, as long as data are collected and stored, data about individual persons.

Privacy is even more important when establishing the e-Marketing mix since there are many regulations and legal aspects to be considered regarding collection and usage of such information.

3. Customer Service

Customer service is one of the necessary and required activities among the support functions needed in transactional situations.

We will connect the apparition of the customer service processes to the inclusion of the “time” parameter in transactions. When switching from a situational perspective to a relational one, and e-Marketing is mostly based on a relational perspective, the marketer saw himself somehow forced into considering support and assistance on a non-temporal level, permanently, over time.

For these reasons, we should consider the Customer Service function (in its fullest and largest definition) as an essential one within the e-Marketing mix.

As we can easily figure out, the service (or assistance if you wish) can be performed upon any element from the classic 4 P’s, hence its moderating character.

4. Community

We can all agree that e-Marketing is conditioned by the existence of this impressive network that the internet is. The merely existence of such a network implies that individuals as well as groups will eventually interact. A group of entities that interact for a common purpose is what we call a “community” and we will soon see why it is of absolute importance to participate, to be part of a community.

The Metcalf law (named after Robert Metcalf) states that the value of a network is given by the number of its components, more exactly the value of a network equals the square of the number of components. We can apply this simple law to communities, since they are a network: we will then conclude that the value of a community rises with the number of its members. This is the power of communities; this is why we have to be a part of it.

The customers / clients of a business can be seen as part of a community where they interact (either independent or influenced by the marketer) – therefore developing a community is a task to be performed by any business, even though it is not always seen as essential.

Interactions among members of such a community can address any of the other functions of e-Marketing, so it can be placed next to other moderating functions.

5. Site

We have seen and agreed that e-Marketing interactions take place on a digital media – the internet. But such interactions and relations also need a proper location, to be available at any moment and from any place – a digital location for digital interactions.

Such a location is what we call a “site”, which is the most widespread name for it. It is now the time to mention that the “website” is merely a form of a “site” and should not be mistaken or seen as synonyms. The “site” can take other forms too, such as a Palm Pilot or any other handheld device, for example.

This special location, accessible through all sort of digital technologies is moderating all other functions of the e-Marketing – it is then a moderating function.

6. Security

The “security” function emerged as an essential function of e-Marketing once transactions began to be performed through internet channels.

What we need to keep in mind as marketers are the following two issues on security:

– security during transactions performed on our website, where we have to take all possible precautions that third parties will not be able to access any part of a developing transaction;

– security of data collected and stored, about our customers and visitors.

A honest marketer will have to consider these possible causes of further trouble and has to co-operate with the company’s IT department in order to be able to formulate convincing (and true, honest!) messages towards the customers that their personal details are protected from unauthorized eyes.

7. Sales Promotion

At least but not last, we have to consider sales promotions when we build an e-Marketing strategy. Sales promotions are widely used in traditional Marketing as well, we all know this, and it is an excellent efficient strategy to achieve immediate sales goals in terms of volume.

This function counts on the marketer’s ability to think creatively: a lot of work and inspiration is required in order to find new possibilities and new approaches for developing an efficient promotion plan.

On the other hand, the marketer needs to continuously keep up with the latest internet technologies and applications so that he can fully exploit them.

To conclude, we have seen that e-Marketing implies new dimensions to be considered aside of those inherited from the traditional Marketing. These dimensions revolve around the concept of relational functions and they are a must to be included in any e-Marketing strategy in order for it to be efficient and deliver results.

Can Adults With Asperger’s Syndrome Succeed in Online Marketing?

[ad_1]

More and more people are turning to online marketing in order to supplement their regular income or to earn a full-time income. Compared to any offline business, the start-up costs are minimal, and once up and running, passive income can be earned without the need to leave the house at all, except to cash in and out of the bank. Getting started can be challenging. It can take hours of hard work to configure a website and write out automated emails in such a way as to generate an online income, and it may take several attempts to succeed. However, once the setting up process is finished, the rewards for success can be highly lucrative.

For the adult with Asperger’s Syndrome, who may be preoccupied by their own specialist interests, and may to struggle with the social aspects of employment, earning a living through online marketing in a chosen niche could be the ideal full-time occupation.

The Basics of Online Marketing

Online marketing involves promoting either your own products for sale or another person’s products as an affiliate. An affiliate will earn a commission for every sale made through their affiliate links. In order to achieve online marketing success, it is imperative that the internet marketer finds a profitable niche, builds up a mailing list by offering information that is of value to people interested in that niche, and then refers these potential customers to products or services that may be of interest to them. Profitable niches can include anything from weight loss, to gardening, to learning to fly.

Why Internet Marketing May Suit Adults with Asperger’s Syndrome

Adults with Asperger’s Syndrome tend to gravitate towards deep and specialist interests, as opposed to having a broad range of interests, and can often find their minds to be totally driven by their obsessions, constantly seeking out new information and accumulating a wealth of unusual or specialist knowledge. As the job of an online marketer involves offering useful information to potential customers, the internet marketer with Asperger’s Syndrome who is able to channel their own specialist interest into a profitable niche could potentially become hugely successful, because they would naturally be discovering more knowledge and information to pass on to their followers. Their income would effectively be earned by them spending their time talking online about the things that interest them most.

At the same time, internet marketing by nature is a job that involves working independently. This would suit many adults with Asperger’s Syndrome, as it would remove any anxieties about the social aspects of employment, and give them control of any issues that may otherwise cause stress.

However, there are challenges and risks associated with online marketing. The three biggest challenges to the aspiring Asperger’s internet marketer are most likely to be the following:

  • Information Overload
  • Channeling a Specialist Interest into a Profitable Niche
  • Preparing for Change

These challenges should not be a barrier to the aspiring Asperger’s online marketer. They are simply issues that require awareness and preparation.

Information Overload

The biggest hurdle to face in the online marketing world can be knowing how to get started. Clear and easy to understand information for the beginner can be hard to find, as so much of the information available online comes from established marketers promoting their own products, often promising totally unrealistic outcomes. Distinguishing between valuable content and online scams may prove to be a hard and hazardous task for someone with Asperger’s Syndrome.

Channeling a Specialist Interest Into A Profitable Niche

Just because a person has a specialist interest and an area of expertise does not automatically mean that their interest will translate into a profitable niche. The information an online marketer offers to their followers has to be something that enough people consider to be of value and for which they are prepared to pay. Someone obsessed with cars, trains, or a particular TV series will need to give considerable thought and research into how they can make the knowledge they have valuable to other individuals, who most likely will not have Asperger’s Syndrome. For instance, few people will be enticed by a website offering a list of car specifications, but they may well be drawn to information that shows them how they can save money on their cars. It is down to the online marketer to understand what questions people are asking within their niche and communicate the answers to their followers.

The Online Marketer Needs to be Prepared for Change

Another such risk is that online earnings are likely to vary from month to month and become unpredictable. While it is true that a successful online business will generate passive income for the online marketer, the Asperger’s marketer will need to be prepared for change, in both keeping up-to-date with the most sought-after information in their niche, and in technology. An approach that may prove hugely profitable for a period of time may suddenly become outdated and the income may suddenly dry up. The Asperger’s marketer therefore needs to be aware of potential changes that may affect their business, and know where they can seek the necessary help and information required to keep their business model up-to-date and profitable.

The Basic Theories of Internet Marketing

[ad_1]

Life is been governed by laws, principles, or theories. It follows that every business you do in life must be done in accordance with such relevant, established, and natural laws if you sincerely want to succeed.

In internet marketing, just like any other business, theories abound. The first theory in this context is called the theory of speed. This theory states that you must consider how fast your product or service is produced or delivered in comparison to your competitors’. This theory is very significant in the management of software development. Software programs are often expected to run fast.

As a matter of fact, if the delivery of your goods and services is faster than your competitors’ own in the same niche people will prefer your products and services to your competitors’. So you must, as a matter of necessity, consider the theory of speed when you are involving yourself in any area of internet marketing.

The second theory is known as the theory of cost. Dear Mr. Internet Marketer, the cost-effectiveness of a product or service you render is a very important determining factor in the school of internet marketing. Believe me, people like cheap products no matter how they pretend. So you must try as much as possible to make your goods and services to be “cheaper” than your rivals’ own. I advise you to check out the price of your competitors’ products and services in order to maintain a reasonable price. Strive as much as possible to ensure that you have a better price.

Thirdly, there is the theory of quality. Are you thinking of delivering inferior products to your customer? Then you should as well be thinking of becoming a failure in your chosen niche. If you ask me, your failure rate is 99.9 per cent; it then means that you are most likely to fail for just selling inferior products or rendering inferior services. Your products and services should be of very high quality if you really expect to make very high amount of money – you can only reap what you sow. Only thieves or criminals are known for taking what they do not deserve. Let me warn you before you lose out, even the poorest of all men like high quality goods and services – poverty notwithstanding.

Are You Making These Costly Internet Marketing Mistakes?

[ad_1]

The internet has really leveled the playing field, allowing people from all types of backgrounds and limited resources to reach dreams they never thought possible before the technological revolution. Sadly, so many come up short in pursuit of their dreams because they commit the 3 mistakes I will share with you in this article. Focus on not committing the same mistakes and you will triumph in the end.

A Website With No Planning

If you want to generate success with your online business, you are going to need a website. There is simply no way around this. However, the number one mistake that internet marketing rookies make is putting up a website with no adequate planning. This lack of planning dooms many before they even have a chance to experience any positive results.

Putting up a website will not make you rich. You must determine the purpose of your site. Will you be selling your own products or will you be selling affiliate products? Will you be setting up a static website for the sole purpose of collecting leads, or will you set up a blog that you will update constantly with fresh content? Do not put up your website until you have come up with a proper plan.

Is There A Market?

The next mistake many aspiring online entrepreneurs make is failing to conduct proper market research to determine whether there is a demand for their business idea. Sure, it is nice to pursue your passion, but if no one if looking for this passion of yours, you will end up broke.

The fastest and most effective way to conduct market research is to determine what keywords people are typing up when they search for products or services online. For example, if you are offering one on one dance lessons, you will want to use a keyword research tool and determine how many people are typing “one on one dance lessons” or something similar.

If enough people are searching for this, you are in business. Also, make sure you conduct a quick search to see how many websites are offering what you want to offer. You don’t want to get into a market with too much competition and small demand. Finally, study the websites of your competitors to see if you can generate any unique ideas of your own.

The Good First Impression

The next mistake that newbies make is creating a poorly designed website which is complicated to navigate. You only have a few seconds to make a good impression. If your website is poorly designed or if people can’t easily navigate your site to find what they are looking for, they will leave and never return. So, if you know nothing about setting up a site or blog, I recommend that you hire a professional. It is a worthy investment.

Summary

Avoid these mistakes at all cost and you will set yourself up for maximum success. Sure, you learn from your mistakes, but it is much better to avoid them altogether if you can. This will allow you to focus on activities that are much more profitable, such as content creation. Keep taking action and never give up.
